Nutritional Status and Socio-Economic Profile of Farm Women in Aspirational Districts of Tamil Nadu

Aim: “Women in agriculture” is a widely discussed arena but nutrition of women agriculture yet to be explored thoroughly. The current paper focuses on farm aspirational districts. These are the districts identified by NITI Aayog which poorly performing state various developmental dimensions. Hence, aims at understanding nutritional status and socio- economic profile these assuming their higher vulnerability malnutrition.
 Study Design: Survey design was used for study.
 Place Duration Study: study conducted Tamil Nadu from 2018 -2022 as part PhD research work, affiliated National Dairy Research Institute.
 Methods: Virudhunagar Ramanathapuram two Nadu. From each district, blocks were randomly selected. Two villages selected block 10 households having least 2 milch animals cultivating atleast crop season village purposively. Hence total 8 180 reproductive age (18-49yrs) included sample. Mean dietary diversity Score Body Mass Index taken indicators women.
 Results: It found that 49.44% had only 4 food groups last 24 hours followed 28.89 percent with 5 6 21.67 7 groups. Only 41.67 respondents BMI normal range. Around 30 underweight, 20 overweight them obese. results call immediate attention interventions ensuring security general particular.
